Parent Involvement

We have many opportunities for parents to get involved. You will gain hours to complete your required 30 Parent Volunteer Hours; however, the most important reason is that you will be making a positive impact on Pacoima Charter School.

We strive to increase parental involvement since that is linked to many benefits for students including:

  • Higher Grades and Test Scores
  • Better attendance and more homework done
  • Increased commitment to school
  • More positive behavior and attitudes
  • Higher graduation rates
  • Increased likelihood of higher education

Parents and caregivers also benefit from parental involvement:

  • Increased life skills and self-sufficiency
  • Improved family communication
  • Partner with the school and shape decisions to improve children’s school success
  • Learn more about our resources
  • Increase home-learning activities

The school benefits of parental involvement are:

  • Improved teacher morale
  • More support from families
  • Higher student achievement
  • Improved school climate
  • Improved discipline
  • Better reputation in the community
  • More community attachment
