Started in the 2017/2018 school year, the Pacoima Charter Elementary School’s violin instruction program has grown from 15 violin students performing on instruments donated by LAV to before and after-school violin classes totaling over 100 students.

For the 2019/2020 school year, the Pacoima Charter Elementary School is pleased to be adding violin classes for its 2nd grade students given during regular school hours and co-sponsored by the Johnny Carson Foundation and the Los Angeles Virtuosi (LAV), founded by Maestro Carlo Ponti.

Additional activities:

There will be two class performances at the end of each semester during which the students will perform for their parents and friends to showcase what they have learned during the semester.

The final year-end performance after the second semester will

involve the students performing alongside LAV’s professional musicians, giving the students the opportunity to apply and expand their music instruction knowledge beyond the classroom.

LAV will schedule some of their concert rehearsals at the School so the students can interact with the musicians and experience and witness professional musicians working and performing. This will also give the students the opportunity to apply and expand their music instruction knowledge beyond the classroom.
