Art
In the Art Room, Mrs. Thain teaches 950 students a year ranging from Kindergarten-3rd grade and around 50-100 4th and 5th grade students in the afterschool Art Club program.
Drawing, painting, mixed media, and 3D art is all explored using chalk pastels, oil pastels, collage techniques, tempura and watercolor paints, as well as the use of clay, paper maché, and Model Magic.
Students explore the elements of art, the principles of design, learn about famous artists from all over the world and about different types of art.
Students also gain confidence and problem solving skills through hands-on art lessons.
